Clinical Observation on the Treatment of Pulmonary Paragonimiasis with Dionol.

Abstract
This survey consists of 12 pulmonary paragonimiasis cases which were proved by the
detection of the ova in the sputum as well as clinical syptoms.
The patients in this study were divided into two groups according to the dosage
given of the drug, Dionol.
Nine cases were treated with 30§·/§¸, and three cases 20§·/§¸. Each group were
treated with the drug every her day in a period of 12 days.
Following results were obtained:
(1) In 7 of 12 cases, 58.3%, the bloody sputum disapeared in the fourth day after
beginning of the treatment. The others in the 8¡­10th day.
(2) The eggs in the sputum were cleared in the 8¡­12th day in all cases. Three of
the 12 cases, 25%, in the sixth day.
(3) No significant difference was observed between the group of 30§·/§¸ and of 20§·/
§¸.
(4) In about 50% of all cases. the X-ray findings of cloudy density(Pneumonitis)were
disappeared or improved.
(5) No clinical evidence of recurrence was seen in the following two methods after
treatment.
